Carrigallen GAA grounds are set to undergo significant changes following the granting of planning permission by Leitrim County Council.
The developments will see the transformation of the existing attic space into a multipurpose area, including toilets, a sensory room and a staircase connecting it to the first floor.
Modification will be made to the roof to include dormer windows, roof lights and a projection for a lift shaft.
The existing fire escape will be removed and a new three-storey extension will be constructed on the north elevation including a stair core, and an elevator will be installed serving all levels.
Internal alterations will be made and all associated site works.
Permission was granted on December 19 with three conditions attached.
This includes the requirement that all service lines and cables must be installed underground and that all excavated and construction waste materials must be kept within site boundaries and reused as much as possible.
