Tributes have been pouring in from Kinlough and beyond following the passing of Michael Gill on Wednesday, October 8.
Michael Gill, of Oakfield Manor, Kinlough, formerly of Drumcliffe, Sligo, and Dublin, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family, in the great care of all at Ballyshannon Community Hospital.
He is predeceased by his parents, John and Honoria Gill, and his sister Geraldine. He will be forever loved and missed by his loving wife Elizabeth; sons and daughters Seoirsin, John, Onóra, Andrew, and Colm; sons- and daughters-in-law Eoin, Carrie, Graham, Sarah Jane, and Stephanie; his beloved grandchildren Lily, Georgia, Finn, Andrew, Eilis, Sophie, Jack, Ayla, and Matthew; his brother Peter; sisters Breda and Helen; brothers- and sisters-in-law; nieces; nephews; relatives; neighbours; extended family; and friends, especially all in The Men’s Shed.
Condolences have been pouring in for Michael on RIP.ie, remembering his character and his time in Kinlough Men’s Shed, where he was very popular.

“The first time I met him, he said we were like two moustachioed actors from the 70's in a bad movie and we hit it off immediately. He always had an irreverent remark to say as he collected the baskets at Mass.
“He joined Kinlough Men’s Shed on May 4, 2024, and as well as bringing apple tarts made by Elizabeth, he brought a sense of humour too. We always looked forward to his stories and yarns,” read a tribute from a member of Kinlough Men’s Shed.
Michael will repose at Breslin’s Funeral Home in Bundoran on Sunday, October 12, from 4pm to 7pm.
Removal from the funeral home will take place on Monday, October 13, for funeral mass in St. Aidan’s Church in Kinlough at 11am, followed by burial in St. Aidan’s cemetery.

“Though missing Michael so much, you have such lovely family memories and stories to help you through. Rest in peace, Michael,” another condolence read.
