Leitrim hurlers are headed to Dublin next Saturday for the Allianz NHL Division 3B Final after their clash with Cavan was fixed for the GAA National Centre of Excellence at the Sports Ireland Campus in Abbotstown.
With Cavan footballers also taking part in the Allianz NFL Division 3 Final in Croke Park later that evening in Croke Park (7.15 pm throw-in), the scheduling of the games makes it easier for Breffni fans to attend both games with the facility in Blanchardstown on the main Cavan to Dublin road that leads directly into Croke Park.
Leitrim's game will have a 3pm throw-in time with extra-time scheduled to be played in case of a draw. It has been thought the game might be played on Sunday if Leitrim had qualified for the Division 4 Final but it will now take place on Saturday.
Cavan handed Leitrim their only defeat of the campaign when the sides met in Kingspan Breffni Park on Sunday March 12, with a late Leitrim rally cutting a big Cavan lead down to just four points, the Breffni blues beating Olcan Conway's side 0-21 to 2-11.
