Sunday's All-Ireland Senior Football Final may be the big story this week in GAA circles but with attention of Leitrim clubs firmly switching to the Club Championship, fans will have the perfect appetiser this weekend when the Masonite ACL comes to an end with three intriguing finals down for decision.
With the draw for the first round of the Connacht Gold Senior and Smith Monumentals Intermediate Championship being made after the Division 1 Final on Saturday evening, clubs will finally find out who they will be meeting the following weekend.
Both draws are completely open so the potential for a heavyweight class of the giants or a minnow facing one of the favourites is sure to draw a big crowd for the draw.
Saturday's clash of defending Fenagh Cup holders St Mary's Kiltoghert and Fenagh St Caillins in the Division 1 Final in Avant Money Pairc Sean Mac Diarmada should promise some fireworks as the repeat meeting of last year's epic semi-final clash between the teams is sure to draw a big crowd.
That game last year went to penalties, a decision since rescinded by clubs, with St Mary's winning out on their way to claiming a first Senior Championship since 2013.
On Friday evening, Pairc Sean will host the meeting of Allen Gaels and Carrigallen as the 2022 Junior Championship winners sealed their passage back to the top flight with a win last Friday over Kiltubrid. The Drumshanbo men suffered their first defeat of the campaign but rested a number of key players in the loss to Annaduff on Saturday.
Gortletteragh, who will contest the Connacht Gold Senior championship, face Drumkeerin who came through an epic battle with Cloone on Monday evening to seal a place in the Division 3 Final thanks to an injury time goal. They meet in Shane McGettigan Park on Saturday evening.
