Paddy Power Odds on Sligo-Leitrim election race released

Paddy Power has released betting odds for the Sligo-Leitrim constituency of the general election.

General election before March 'odds-on'

Marian Harkin takes the favourite spot on Paddy Powers list, as the ex-member of European Parliament and two time TD in Sligo-Leitrim looks for her the third win in the constituency.

The list is dominated by current and ex-TDs as Michael Clarke of Independent Ireland, who is a former TD winning in the then Roscommon - South Leitrim constituency, running for the first time in Sligo-Leitrim has come in with strong odds at 2/9.

The list only includes two of the four Leitrim based candidates with Cathoirleach of Leitrim County County, Paddy O’Rourke (FF) coming in at 10/1 and Blathin Gallagher (GP) holding 66/1 odds.

Independent candidates have a strong showing in the list, while Fine Gael will be content that their only Candidate Frank Feighan has positive odds of re-election, while Fiannna Fáil will be least happy of the Major parties as neither of their candidates score better than even odds of election.

The list of odds does not include a number of candidates who joined the race in the last week including Gino O’Boyle (Labour), Marie Candon (Party of Animal Welfare), Des Guckian (Independent). It has also excluded Michael Kelly of the Irish Peoples Party.

Full list of betting odds: Marian Harkin (Independent) 1/10; Frankie Feighan (Fine Gael) 1/6; Michael Clarke (Independent Ireland) 2/9; Martin Kenny (Sinn Fein) 1/4; Eamon Scanlan (Fianna Fail) Even Odds; Edel McSharry (Fianna Fail) 6/4; Chris MacManus (Sinn Fein) 8/1; Paddy O'Rourke (Fianna Fail) 10/1; Marie Casserly (Independent) 33/1; Nessa Cosgrove (Labour) 50/1; Blathin Gallagher (Green) 66/1; Graham Monaghan (Aontú) 200/1.
