Storm Debi affected the region overnight and in the early hours of this morning.
The worst of Storm Debi has passed in the Leitrim area with high winds causing a number of power outages in the region and disruption to services.
Although Leitrim wasn't placed in the Status Red or Orange alert areas, south Leitrim was impacted significantly by the storm with power supplies interrupted in the wider Mohill, Ballinamore and Carrigallen areas.
Other areas affected are Boyle, Crossna and Ardcarne in Co Roscommon, and Corlough, Co Cavan.
The National Director of Fire and Emergency Management, Keith Leonard, described Storm Debi as "probably the most intense storm" of the season so far.
He said that it was "probably the high winds of that leading edge of the storm as it came across the country that was the most hazardous piece, so probably the most intense storm we've had so far in the season".
Public transport services have been impacted this morning.
Iarnrod Eireann say the 09:05 from Connolly Station to Sligo has been cancelled due to fallen trees between Enfield/Sligo.
Bus Eireann says there will be a phased resumption of services this morning.
