Drumlease National School, Dromahair
Funding has been granted to Drumlease National School, Dromahair for three additional classroom extensions. The primary school is set to see construction of a new mainstream classroom, a special education classroom and a special education tuition room.
This development is set to enhance the schools capacity to provide a positive learning environment for all pupils, including those with special educational needs.
Norma Foley TD, Minister for Education informed Sligo-Leitrim TD Dep. Frank Feighan, today, August 14, that funding has been granted to Drumlease NS.
“I am delighted to see this much needed extra classroom provision for the Drumlease School which includes one Mainstream Classroom, a Special Education Tuition Room, and a Special Education Classroom,” Deputy Feighan said.
Drumlease NS were successful in their application for more classrooms under the additional School Accommodation Scheme 2024. This Government initiative guarantees that necessary classroom accommodations are in place to meet the needs of the student population enrolled in a school.
If additional accommodation will be required in a school for more than three years, a school may seek a grant to purchase a prefab or construct a permanent classroom.
“I want to compliment the principal and board of management for an excellent application. I hope that work can begin in getting the tender documents prepared and out to ensure work can commence without undue delay”, concluded Deputy Feighan.
The addition of these three new classrooms marks a significant milestone for Drumlease NS, providing a more inclusive future for its pupils.
