Lahard housing estate
The basketball court in Lahard housing estate requires urgent works, Ballinamore municipal district has heard.
Cllr Gary Prior asked Ballinamore MD to carry out urgent improvement works to the basketball court area.
“The surface of the court is in very poor condition as I feel a new playing surface with line markings is required, and to carry out a safety inspection of the fencing and basketball stands,” Cllr Prior said.
“Just last May, 10 new council homes were officially opened to give a total of 52 homes in the Lahard Estate of Ballinamore.
“The Lahard housing estate is very well maintained and has a very good committee in place.
“As a new generation of families grow up, there must be a safe place for the children to grow and play and I am asking that these works can be completed without delay,” Cllr Prior added.
District engineer Darragh O’Boyle visited the area and will explore community funding options to support the necessary improvement works.
