Drumhierny Woodland Hideaway
The luxurious and popular Drumhierny Woodland Hideaway in Leitrim Village has submitted an application for major developments to Leitrim County Council to further enhance and modernise its facilities.
Lodged on January 21, the proposal includes converting Drumhierny Lodge into a bar and restaurant, along with a two-storey extension at the rear to accommodate a kitchen and function room.
Plans also feature the addition of a single-storey glass Orangery on the east side, complete with a rooftop terrace.
An Orangery is a space designed to protect orange and other fruit trees during winter.
Further upgrades involve glass porches at both the front and rear entrances, as well as the repurposing of the coach house buildings into a reception area, café staff facilities and offices for Drumhierny Woodland Hideaway.
The project also proposes rebuilding single-storey outbuildings to link the coach house with Drumhierny Lodge, incorporating toilets, storage and an archway that connects the courtyard to the eastern grounds.
Additionally, a glass lobby is planned in front of the coach house archway, along with a first-floor connection to the northern grounds.
The application further includes connection to all public services and all ancillary site works including works to the courtyard.
A decision from Leitrim County Council is expected by March 17.
