The following deaths have occurred in the wider Leitrim area:

Austin Quinn, Ardrum, Ballinamore, Leitrim

Predeceased by his parents Phil & Helena and brothers Kilian & Francis. He will be sadly missed by his devoted wife Marian, loving children Carmel, Laura and Philip, his brother Gabriel and sister Marian, sons-in-law Adrian Dockery & Ronan Redican, his beloved grandchildren Rachel, Caoimhe, Aoife, Matthew, Brian, Daniel & Alison, sister-in-law Mary, brothers-in-law Gerry Smyth and Brendan & Seán Mulvey, nieces, nephews, relatives, neighbours and many friends.

Reposing at Smith's Funeral Home, High St. Ballinamore, (N41 TD62) on Wednesday evening from 5pm until 8pm. Removal from his residence in Ardrum on Thursday morning to arrive at St. Mary’s Church in Aughnasheelin (N41 HR04) for Funeral Mass at 11am. Burial afterwards in Oughteragh Cemetery, Ballinamore. Shane Conlon, Hilly Road, Drumshanbo, Co. Leitrim

Shane Conlon of New York City, NY and formerly Hilly Road, Drumshanbo, Co. Leitrim died peacefully in his home on the 26th March 2020. Loving son of the late Sean and Olive Conlon, Shane will be sadly missed by his sister Lisa, aunts and uncles Philomena (Phil) Lavin, Thomasina and Tommy Padden and Pauric Padden, cousins, extended family and a wide circle of friends. Funeral Mass in St Patrick's Church, Drumshanbo, on Saturday, 26th March 2022 at 11am followed by burial of Shane's ashes in Drumshanbo Cemetery. Michael Collins, Clooncraff, Hillstreet, Carrick-on-Shannon, Roscommon

Peacefully, at Sligo University Hospital. Predeceased by his beloved wife Mary Teresa, his daughter Margaret, son-in-law Kevin and infant son Patrick. He will be sadly missed by his loving daughters Martina and Sinead,sons J.J. and Seamus, sons-in-law, David and Damien, daughters-in-law Claire and Christina, grandchildren Daniel, Katie, Ryan, Sean, Nicole, Luke, Francesca, Niall, Sarah, Ceira, Sophia and Orlaith, nephews, nieces, sisters-in-law, relatives, neighbours and friends.

Reposing at McHugh's Funeral Home, Strokestown, on Thursday evening, March 24th, from 6pm until 8pm (walk through only, please). Removal on Friday, March 25th, to The Half Parish Church, to arrive for Funeral Mass at 12 noon. Burial afterwards in Clooncraff Cemetery. Due to Covid, those attending Michael's Funeral are advised to continue wearing masks and refrain from hand shaking. 

Mary Ellen Daly (née Walsh) Cootehall, Boyle, Co. Roscommon

Mary Ellen Daly (née Walsh) Cootehall, Boyle, Co. Roscommon, formerly Guhard North, Lisselton, Listowel, Co. Kerry, passed away peacefully on March 20th 2022, in the tender care of the staff at Sligo University Hospital, and surrounded by her devoted husband and family. Mary Ellen will be sadly missed by her loving husband Niall, daughter Katie and son Steven, parents Mossie and Nodie, (Walsh) sister Liz, brothers Gerry and John, mother-in-law Molly, sisters-in-law Karen Daly, Karen Walsh and Eileen Walsh, brothers-in-law Martin, Peter and Donal, and Tony, aunts, uncles, cousins, work colleagues, neighbours and her wide circle of friends.

Reposing at her residence on Tuesday evening (March 22nd) from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. (walk through only please) Removal to St. Michael’s Church, Cootehall on Wednesday morning (March 23rd) arriving for Mass of Christian Burial at 12 noon. Interment afterwards in Kileenan Cemetery. Funeral Mass may be viewed live on the following link https://www.churchtv.ie/cootehall/ .In compliance with COVID 19 guidelines, you are requested to please wear a face mask, sanitise hands, avoid shaking of hands, and adhere to Social Distancing. The family thank you for your sympathy, support and understanding at this difficult time.

Micheál Reynolds, Gadden, Sooey, Ballygawley, Co. Sligo

The death has occurred of Micheál Reynolds, Gadden, Ballygawley, Co. Sligo, peacefully at Sligo University Hospital. Predeceased by his parents Owen and Josephine. Loving husband to Sheila, dearly beloved by daughter Josephine (Ballintogher), son Colin (Ballina) and daughter-in-law Ana Luiza. Loving grandfather to Sheona, Paul, Sophia and Keira. Deeply missed by brothers Paddy Joe, Seamus, Eugene and sisters Joan, Ann, Mary, Noreen and Majella. Sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, relatives, friends and neighbours.

Reposing at his home (F91 X432) on Wednesday evening from 4pm until 9pm. Funeral Mass in Church of Assumption, Sooey at 12pm on Thursday. Burial afterwards in St Joseph’s Cemetery, Sooey. Family flowers only, please. Donations in lieu, if so desired, to The Irish Heart Foundation. House private on Thursday morning, please. Please respect current public health guidelines on the wearing of masks and no hand shaking. 

Pauline Shanley (née Hodgins), Belmont, Drumsna, Leitrim / Tynagh, Galway

The death has occurred of Pauline Shanley (née Hodgins) Belmont, Drumsna, Co. Leitrim and formerly of Gortaneare, Tynagh, Co. Galway Sunday 20th March 2022 peacefully in the wonderful care of the doctors, nurses, and staff of Sligo University Hospital. Predeceased by her parents; Joseph and Mary, brothers; John and Josie Hodgins. Deeply missed by her loving husband John, sisters Maura Ledwidge (Dublin) and Teresa Flanagan (Loughrea), brother Vincent Hodgins (London), sisters-in-law Patricia Towey (Luton) and Rose Collier (Luton), nephews, nieces, relatives, neighbours and a large circle of friends. Requiem Mass on Wednesday, 23 March 2022, at 12.00 noon in the Church of The Immaculate Conception, Drumsna, Co. Leitrim. Burial afterwards in Kiltoghert Cemetery. Pauline's funeral mass can be viewed on Duignan Media Facebook page. For the protection of everyone, please wear a mask, no hand shaking and observe social distancing guidelines. 

James (Seamus) Brady, Edenmore, Ballinamuck, Longford / Aughnacliffe, Longford

The death has occurred of James (Seamus) Brady, Edenmore, Ballinamuck, Co. Longford. Seamus passed away peacefully March 20th 2022 following a short illness at Beaumont Hospital, Dublin, son of the late Patrick and Bridie, dearly loved and sadly missed by his family, brother P.J. sisters Catherine, Mary, Dympna and Irene, brothers in law, nieces, nephews, his Aunt Katie, extended family, neighbours and friends. Reposing in Glennon’s Funeral Home, Longford on Wednesday evening from 5pm until 7pm (walk through only). Funeral Mass for Seamus will take place on Thursday morning at 11am in St. Colmcille’s Church, Aughnacliffe followed by cremation at Lakelands Crematorium, Cavan at 1.30pm. Family flowers only please, donations, if desired, to St. Joseph’s Hospital Patient Comfort Fund. House Private Please. Please refrain from hand shaking, wear masks and use hand sanitiser.
