Over 8,312 patients, including 164 children, were admitted to hospital without a bed in June, according to the Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation TrolleyWatch figures.
Sligo University Hospital had the second highest level in the country.
The worst levels of overcrowding were seen in:
1. University Hospital Limerick (1,689 patients)
2. Sligo University Hospital (822 patients)
3. Cork University Hospital (695 patients)
4. University Hospital Galway (637 patients)
5. St. James’s Hospital (599 patients)
