Carrigallen Youth Theatre marks 20th anniversary

Special show at Corn Mill on Sunday, April 23 at 3pm

Best Years of Our Lives Are Yet to Come on stage

Corn Mill Theatre, Carrigallen

Carrigallen Youth Theatre (CYT) has a very exciting year ahead, as it is 20 years since its formation along with Carrick-on-Shannon and Manorhamilton.

CYT Junior group are working very hard in the rehearsal space getting ready to hit the Corn Mill stage with their space adventure performance.

Entitled ‘Space Pirates and Gobstoppers’, it has been devised by the group themselves, written and directed by Sonia Norris, assisted in the devising space by Regina Kiernan and on production Orla Brady.

This fun, silly and joyous story takes us on a cruise ship - in space - setting a course for the Nixar solar system!
Everything starts to go wrong when the captain and his extremely brave lieutenant, realise they aren’t quite where they are meant to be and the Belassian’s are firing gobstoppers at them! The captain must protect his precious cargo at all costs!
This family friendly short performance can be seen at Corn Mill on Sunday, April 23 at 3pm.

No booking necessary, donations at door greatly appreciated. To add to the 20th year of celebrations the committee have organised a raffle, lines available locally, from committee, and youth members, please support.

Local businesses have been extremely generous with prizes for this raffle, which will be held after the performance.

Everyone involved is so excited to be back on stage after four years of keeping the youth group engaged and connected behind the screens with zoom. CYT is grateful to the Arts Department of Leitrim Co Council, Arts Council of Ireland, and Youth Theatre Ireland, parents, and guardians for their continued support and belief in Youth Theatre.
