Outgoing TD Martin Kenny was satisfied with Sinn Fein's election strategy, which he feels may put his running mate, Chris McManus in the hunt for the final seat in Sligo-Leitrim.
"I am quite satisfied that we are doing OK. We could be possibly looking at taking the last seat, if Chris McManus gets a decent transfer. But it's just all to play for at the moment - it's difficult to know," he said.
He said the division of the constituency had worked well for the party and has put them in a strong position.
