A Co Leitrim school has scooped a major film award in this year's FÍS Film Festival.

Pupils from St. Hugh’s NS, Dowra, took home the award for the Comedy section with a very astute political caper entitled ‘My Fellow St. Hughsians’. Things take an unexpected turn in the heat of the school prefect elections.

Entries for the 13th FÍS Film Festival came in from across the country and all nomination categories were tightly contested.

RTÉ presenter Sinead Kennedy hosted the prestigious annual FÍS Film Festival Awards Ceremony where 25 schools from across Ireland were honoured for their film making endeavours.

Awards were made to schools from Louth, Kerry, Limerick, Clare, Cork, Leitrim, Sligo, Roscommon, Kildare, Mayo, Galway, Offaly and Dublin.
