The following deaths have occurred in the wider Leitrim area:

Louie Duignan, Gortinee, Annaduff, Leitrim

The death has occurred of Louie Duignan, Gortinee, Aughamore, Carrick on Shannon, Co Leitrim, March 22th 2022, at Sligo University Hospital. Son of the late Patrick and Anna May Duignan, sadly missed by his brothers J.P. (London) and Seamus (Drumlion), sister Rosaleen McNulty (Eslin), sisters in law Teresa and Joan, nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews, relatives, neighbours and friends. Reposing at St Patrick’s Hospital Chapel, Carrick on Shannon, Friday evening from 5.30pm until 7pm (walk through only). Funeral Mass for Louie will take place on Saturday at 12 noon in St. Mary’s Church, Annaduff, followed by burial in the adjoining cemetery. Houses Private Please. Due to Covid-19 please refrain from handshaking, wear masks and use hand sanitiser. The family are extremely grateful for your consideration and support.

Michael (Mick) O'Grady, Berkley Road, Dublin 7, Dublin / Ballinaglera, Leitrim / Kilmovee, Mayo

O’Grady, Michael (Mick), Berkeley Road, Dublin 7 and formerly of Co. Leitrim (Ballinaglera) and Co. Mayo (Kilmovee) March 22nd, 2022 (peacefully) in the loving care of the staff at the Mater Hospital. Dear son of the late Michael and Elizabeth and brother of the late Anne. Sadly missed by his loving sister Marion, brother Peter, sister-in-law Phyllis, brother-in-law David, nephews Michael, Dermot, Peter and Ralph, relatives and a wide circle of friends. Reposing at Cunningham’s Funeral Home, Lucan on Friday, March 25th between 6pm and 8pm. Removal to Dardistown Crematorium, Collinstown Cross, Old Airport Road, Dublin, on Saturday March 26th arriving for funeral prayers at 2pm. Maureen McGirl (née Creegan), Camber, Aughavas, Leitrim

Maureen McGirl, Camber, Aughavas, Co. Leitrim and formerly Drumkeeran, Cloone, Co. Leitrim, peacefully at Cavan General Hospital. Predeceased by her husband Charlie, brother Michael and sister Rosaleen. Maureen will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by her family, sons Tony and Leo, daughter Rita, daughter-in-law Rose, son-in-law Leo, grandson Ryan, brothers Seamus (Drumkeeran), P.J (Sheffield) sister Vera (London) nephews, nieces, relatives, neighbours and friends. Reposing at Smith's Funeral Home, High St., Ballinamore (N41TD62) on Thursday evening from 5pm until 7pm. Removal from her residence in Camber on Friday morning to arrive at St Joseph's Church, Aughavas for funeral mass at 11am with burial afterwards in Aughavas cemetery. House strictly private please. Eileen Cunningham (née Snee), Doorly Park, Sligo Town, Sligo / Frenchpark, Roscommon

Eileen Cunningham (née Snee), Doorly Park, Sligo and formerly of Frenchpark, Co.Roscommon, March 22nd 2022, peacefully in the exceptional care of Summerville Nursing Home, Strandhill, Co Sligo surrounded by her loving family. Predeceased by her beloved husband John. Dearly loved mother of Paddy, Mary (Kerins), Eamonn, Seán, Eileen (Bellew) and Paul. She will be sadly missed and remembered with love by her sons, daughters, sons-in-law, daughters-in-law, sister-in-law, seventeen cherished grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren, nephews, nieces, relatives, neighbours and many friends. Reposing at Seán Feehily’s Funeral Home, Cartron Cross, Sligo (F91EH98) on Thursday, March 24th, from 6pm to 8pm. Cortége will leave family home on Friday, March 25th, at 11am to travel to Saint Anne’s Church, Sligo arriving for Mass of the Resurrection at 11:30am. Cherry Bothwell (née Gordon), 16a Coolkill, Sandyford, Dublin / Ballyconnell, Cavan

Cherry Thomasina Bothwell (nee Gordon), 16a Coolkill, Sandyford, Dublin 18 and formerly of Sandybrook, Ballyconnell,Co. Cavan, peacefully in the loving care of the staff of Ashbury Nursing Home, Kill O The Grange, Blackrock, Co.Dublin. Beloved wife of the late George Alexander Bothwell (Ackie), loving mother of Thelma (Corfu) and Gordon, mother-in-law of Spiros ( Corfu - recently deceased) and Wendy and dear grandmother of Nicola, Simon and Julie (Stoyiannos), Gillian, Alan and Sandra (Bothwell) and her eleven great-grandchildren. Cherry will be sadly missed by her son and daughter, daughter-in-law, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews, relatives and friends, neighbours and a large circle of friends. Removal on Friday, March 25 to Dundrum Methodist Church, Ballinteer Road, Ballinteer, Dublin 14 D16 WK27 for Service at 6.00pm. Funeral Service on Saturday March 26, at 2.30pm in Christchurch, Kildallon, Ballyconnell,Co Cavan H14 Y902 with burial afterwards in adjoining graveyard, Family flowers only please. Austin Quinn, Ardrum, Ballinamore, Leitrim

Predeceased by his parents Phil & Helena and brothers Kilian & Francis. He will be sadly missed by his devoted wife Marian, loving children Carmel, Laura and Philip, his brother Gabriel and sister Marian, sons-in-law Adrian Dockery & Ronan Redican, his beloved grandchildren Rachel, Caoimhe, Aoife, Matthew, Brian, Daniel & Alison, sister-in-law Mary, brothers-in-law Gerry Smyth and Brendan & Seán Mulvey, nieces, nephews, relatives, neighbours and many friends. Removal from his residence in Ardrum on Thursday morning to arrive at St. Mary’s Church in Aughnasheelin (N41 HR04) for Funeral Mass at 11am. Burial afterwards in Oughteragh Cemetery, Ballinamore. Shane Conlon, Hilly Road, Drumshanbo, Co. Leitrim

Shane Conlon of New York City, NY and formerly Hilly Road, Drumshanbo, Co. Leitrim died peacefully in his home on the 26th March 2020. Loving son of the late Sean and Olive Conlon, Shane will be sadly missed by his sister Lisa, aunts and uncles Philomena (Phil) Lavin, Thomasina and Tommy Padden and Pauric Padden, cousins, extended family and a wide circle of friends. Funeral Mass in St Patrick's Church, Drumshanbo, on Saturday, 26th March 2022 at 11am followed by burial of Shane's ashes in Drumshanbo Cemetery. Michael Collins, Clooncraff, Hillstreet, Carrick-on-Shannon, Roscommon

Peacefully, at Sligo University Hospital. Predeceased by his beloved wife Mary Teresa, his daughter Margaret, son-in-law Kevin and infant son Patrick. He will be sadly missed by his loving daughters Martina and Sinead,sons J.J. and Seamus, sons-in-law, David and Damien, daughters-in-law Claire and Christina, grandchildren Daniel, Katie, Ryan, Sean, Nicole, Luke, Francesca, Niall, Sarah, Ceira, Sophia and Orlaith, nephews, nieces, sisters-in-law, relatives, neighbours and friends. Reposing at McHugh's Funeral Home, Strokestown, on Thursday evening, March 24th, from 6pm until 8pm (walk through only, please). Removal on Friday, March 25th, to The Half Parish Church, to arrive for Funeral Mass at 12 noon. Burial afterwards in Clooncraff Cemetery. Due to Covid, those attending Michael's Funeral are advised to continue wearing masks and refrain from hand shaking. 

Micheál Reynolds, Gadden, Sooey, Ballygawley, Co. Sligo

The death has occurred of Micheál Reynolds, Gadden, Ballygawley, Co. Sligo, peacefully at Sligo University Hospital. Predeceased by his parents Owen and Josephine. Loving husband to Sheila, dearly beloved by daughter Josephine (Ballintogher), son Colin (Ballina) and daughter-in-law Ana Luiza. Loving grandfather to Sheona, Paul, Sophia and Keira. Deeply missed by brothers Paddy Joe, Seamus, Eugene and sisters Joan, Ann, Mary, Noreen and Majella. Sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, relatives, friends and neighbours. Funeral Mass in Church of Assumption, Sooey at 12pm on Thursday. Burial afterwards in St Joseph’s Cemetery, Sooey. Family flowers only, please. Donations in lieu, if so desired, to The Irish Heart Foundation. House private on Thursday morning, please. James (Seamus) Brady, Edenmore, Ballinamuck, Longford / Aughnacliffe, Longford

The death has occurred of James (Seamus) Brady, Edenmore, Ballinamuck, Co. Longford. Seamus passed away peacefully March 20th 2022 following a short illness at Beaumont Hospital, Dublin, son of the late Patrick and Bridie, dearly loved and sadly missed by his family, brother P.J. sisters Catherine, Mary, Dympna and Irene, brothers in law, nieces, nephews, his Aunt Katie, extended family, neighbours and friends. Funeral Mass for Seamus will take place on Thursday morning at 11am in St. Colmcille’s Church, Aughnacliffe followed by cremation at Lakelands Crematorium, Cavan at 1.30pm. Family flowers only please, donations, if desired, to St. Joseph’s Hospital Patient Comfort Fund. House Private Please. Please refrain from handshaking, wear masks and use hand sanitiser.
