EirGrid Energy Citizen Roadshows comes to Carrick on Shannon
EirGrid is set to host its first Energy Citizen’s Roadshow of 2025 on Tuesday, February 11th at The Landmark Hotel in Carrick-on-Shannon, Co. Leitrim. This free event will bring together industry experts, local exhibitors, and members of the community to highlight the benefits of Ireland’s ongoing energy transition. Attendees will gain insights into how EirGrid is future-proofing the electricity grid and learn about practical solutions for homes, businesses, and communities interested in reducing energy usage and costs.
Doors open at 6:15pm, providing an opportunity for refreshments, networking, and direct engagement with exhibitors from the retrofit and sustainability space. These exhibitors will include local contractors, community support groups, and professionals offering energy advice. Whether you are just starting your energy journey or looking for new ways to enhance efficiency, you’ll find a wealth of information and resources all in one place.
At 7:00pm, an interactive panel discussion will commence, featuring representatives from EirGrid, ESB Networks, SEAI, and Leitrim County Council. Topics on the agenda include the many benefits of transitioning to renewable energy, as well as strategies for reducing reliance on traditional sources of power. ESB Networks will discuss microgeneration and minigeneration schemes, explaining how small-scale energy production can empower households and communities to become more self-sufficient. Meanwhile, SEAI will outline the range of grants, retrofitting supports, and sustainable energy community initiatives available to those eager to pursue environmentally responsible lifestyles.
Following the panel discussion, attendees will have the chance to ask questions—whether in-person or online—to address any specific concerns they may have. This Q&A session offers a valuable forum for learning how community efforts, business support, and government-backed programs can drive a cleaner, greener future for Leitrim and beyond.
Don’t miss this unique opportunity to discover how Ireland’s energy landscape is evolving—and how you can play a part.
